We had a very good turnout for our annual Christmas Party/food drive at Hog Creek Bar and Grill. Terry did an outstanding job with our lunch. He also had put a collection container out for gently used coats and hats/mittens. It was overflowing! Thank you so much to Terry and crew for all the help this year.

GOOD news in the legislative report with the signing of the ROW bill. Now, to make some progress on the Autocycle bill. Cheryl S. said we did have a bill # in the Senate, so that's a start. That discussion led to talk of the upcoming lobby day on Jan. 23. Let's fill the buses and get loud again!

Cheryl shared some of the results from the Summer Hummer survey that we filled out. Pat S. talked about the tree planting program at ABATE Acres . He had a map of the land, where the new trees went and where the spring planting will go. It looks like it will be very nice when completed.

We talked about fund raising ideas for 2018. Dave H. and Dave R. are looking into a brat fry in Pittsville opening weekend of fishing season. Dave H. also mentioned a payback night at a bar in Marshfield. They donate $1 per burger sold, I know this is done at other locations in WI.

I mentioned the upcoming STEAM conference in Albert Lea, MN. Tom B. reported that nothing had been decided at the BOD meeting as to how many scholarships may be available, I told those interested to watch their newsletter for info.

We have a Fun Run 2018 meeting coming up at our Jan. meeting, with the large turnout, some ideas where shared with members of the committee. We decided that American Legions/VFW's that would like to get on the run, we would let them in for free. Tom B. mentioned the High Ground, and we included them as well. Lori S. told us that a new bar she signed up last year has recruited 2 new bars, not just for the poker run, but as new members as well. How cool is that?

We raised the funds needed to maintain our sustaining membership for the MRF. Just doing our part to keep the award away for the fibs to the south.

Jan. 6, our meeting will be at The Last Straw, north of Athens. This meeting begins at 11:00, with Fun Run meeting and free beer to follow. No meeting in Feb. because of officer training. The March meeting will be at Gorm's in Vesper on the 8th at 7:00 pm. Dilly Dilly ...
