At our December Meeting we had a great turn-out as we held the Christmas Potluck Party and the Food Drive. Because of the generosity of Region 1-H members, we had many food items for the Hartford Food Pantry. Thanks to all who donated!

Steve Panten stated that the "Right of Way Violations Bill" has been signed by Governor Walker and is now the 2017 Wisconsin Act 105. Steve stressed the importance of Lobby Day on January 23, 2018, and emphasized the need for a good turn-out.

Plan to attend the 7th Annual Randy & Janine Memorial to be held on Saturday, January 20th at Eddie's Lake House (7138 Hwy 144, West Bend). Registration is between 5:30am and 5:30pm with raffle drawing to be held at 6:00pm. The proceeds have been and will continue to be donated to ABATE to support awareness activities. For those who are not familiar, Randy and Janine lost their lives when hit by a driver who committed a right-of-way violation.

Cherie has tickets for the statewide Sweetheart Cash Raffle to be held on February 11th. Tickets are two for $5. Prizes awarded will be 1st - $1000, 2nd - $500, 3rd - $250. All money and ticket stubs must be turned in by the January meeting so they can be submitted on time.

Lance stated that we need a new location to hold our monthly meetings and events. If you know of halls that will not charge a rental fee, please share your ideas with Lance prior to the January meeting. Our January meeting will be held at the Kountry Klub - 6936 County Road W, West Bend.

Sally suggested a new fundraising idea -- selling corn-on-the-cob at the Summer Hummer. She asked interested members to contact her. If we have enough manpower to handle the workload, we may start at this year's Summer Hummer.

Looking ahead to spring -- this year's Chili Cook-Off will be on Saturday, March 31st at CC's Place in Allenton. More details will be shared in the February and March newsletters.

With our wishes for a Happy New Year!
