Wisconsin DOT to Host a Peer Exchange on Motorcycle Safety Issues and You're Invited!
By John Reblin
On August 22nd, the Wisconsin DOT will be hosting
an open Peer Exchange on motorcycle related safety
issues. The thought behind this event is to create
a discussion of issues facing motorcyclists today.
Some ideas or topics which may be included are:
increasing interest in motorcycle training,
license issues, road paint and traction, chip
sealing, round-a-bouts among others.
To attend this event, you will need to request a
free ticket. Here is the link for the 43rd
Wisconsin Governors Conference on Highway Safety
being held at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel at
333 W College Ave, Appleton 54911 and the request
information to attend this exchange . The peer
exchange is scheduled to be from 3pm-5pm. The link
When you get to this link, click on the REGISTER
button. There is no charge to attend and everyone
interested in motorcycle safety issues is welcome.
When you register for your free ticket, the
Wisconsin DOT is requesting three topics be
suggested that you feel you would like to discuss
regarding motorcycle safety in Wisconsin. That
will allow for the topics with the most interest
to be discussed along with the DOT being able to
plan to have the right personnel available to
address/discuss those concerns.
This your opportunity to ask the questions or give
opinions that you feel will improve motorcycle
safety in Wisconsin. I urge you to attend and to
share this link with others that may be interested
in attending this event.
After the peer exchange, we will be having our
MoSAC, (Motorcycle Safety Advisory Council),
meeting at approximately 6.00 pm at the same
location and all participants of the Peer Exchange
are invited to attend this also. The evening
should end by 8:30.
I am excited about this Peer Exchange, I feel we
can share much needed information and raise many
valid concerns. The more people that attend will
make this a better event for Wisconsin
Editor's Note: in addition to being ABATE of
Wisconsin's Deputy Director and chair of our
Highway Safety Committee, John Reblin also
