Autocycles
By Steve Panten

CALL TO ACTION

In Wisconsin there is a bill being circulated asking for co-sponsors to support legislation that would create a separate class for vehicles commonly referred to as autocycles removing them from the motorcycle class. These vehicles are commonly controlled by a steering wheel, gas and brake pedals and operate different from a common two wheeled motorcycle.

ABATE of Wisconsin has been working with Representative All Ott, his staff, and Polaris Industries to draft LRB-2601/1 which would provide a path to legally operate these vehicles on Wisconsin roads without the requirement of a motorcycle endorsement thereby removing them from the motorcycle class.

ABATE is asking you to contact your State Legislators and ask them to sign on as a co-sponsor and support LRB-2601/1. Differentiating autocycles from motorcycles will increase the accuracy of crash statistic data collection and analysis.
