Call to Action: Help Reject Wisconsin SB 7 and AB 4

January 17, 2011: Your help is needed to reject Wisconsin SB 7 and AB 4
ABATE of Wisconsin has learned that there will be a joint public hearing on SB 7
and AB 4 Wednesday January 19th at 11:30 AM in room 412 East in the State Capitol
in Madison. These are the bills that are attempting to roll the minimum motor vehicle
insurance limits back to their 2009 levels.
ABATE of Wisconsin has taken a position that these bills are detrimental to the
interests of Motorcyclists in Wisconsin. Lower minimum insurance limits will transfer
costs to the victims in motor vehicle crashes, especially motorcyclists, who are
often the victims of other drivers claiming to not see them when motorists turn
left in front of or pull out in front of motorcyclists.
Members of our Legislative Committee will be present Wednesday to present their
arguments to the members of the Senate and Assembly committees hearing these bills.
Your help is needed now in calling your Senator and Assemblyperson if they are members
of either of these committees and asking that these bills be rejected.
