Michelle thanked Region 1H Members for a great job organizing the Hospitality Room at our 50th Anniversary Weekend in Madison. Jon Ferus received special recognition for his hard work and excellent service throughout the weekend. Sally and Boyd Doxtator were recognized for their generous contribution of delicious food for guests to enjoy. Our very own Regional Representative, Michelle, was presented with a trophy for being the “Regional Officer of the Year.” We are all grateful for our dedicated and generous members and very proud of Michelle.
Steve discussed results and possible implications of the November 5th election – especially how it may affect us at the state level. He announced the date for Lobby Day 2025 – Thursday, February 13th! Steve reviewed important goals of this legislative season including protecting the sale of E-10 gasoline; ensuring the right to repair vehicles along with provision of tools and technology needed; and protection of combustible engines.
Michelle thanked Boyd for organizing the October social ride, noting that the weather was beautiful, and a great day was had by all who attended!
Julie showed off some of the new products she picked up in Madison during the 50th Anniversary Weekend. She procured one special edition Army-style camouflage cap that we will raffle off at the December meeting.
The Hartford Christmas Parade was on Saturday, November 9th. We enjoyed a great turn-out with 11 motorcycles and four walkers to pass out candy and American flags. We appreciate Cherie & Duane Frey for the pre-parade preparations and Brenda & Jim Anderson for the post-parade festivities! Thanks to everyone who came for the parade on this cloudy fall day!
Our Christmas Party will be at our regular meeting time on December 11th. Please remember to bring a dish to pass (party snack, appetizer, dessert), non-perishable food items for our Food Pantry collection, and a friend who may be interested in joining ABATE!
For a great start to 2025, Hogman has planned the 16th Annual “Freeze Your Nips & Nuts” ride for January 1st. All are invited to meet at Thirsty Duck (N64 W23180 Main Street, Sussex) at 10 am, with plans to leave Thirsty Duck by 11 am. Cost is $20 with 50% payout and food included at the last stop.
Please consider attending the 14th Annual Randy & Janine Memorial to be held on Saturday, January 18th at Nuckleheadz (3680 County Hwy NN, West Bend). The proceeds have been and will continue to be donated to ABATE to support awareness activities. For those who are not familiar, Randy and Janine lost their lives when hit by a driver who committed a right-of-way violation. We are seeking donations of prizes/gift baskets and volunteers to help run the event.
Our Chili Cook-Off will be held on April 5, 2025, at a location to be determined.
Mary and Brenda have been planning next year’s Summer Long Run with the End of the Run Party to be held at Traditions Pub & Grill in Fillmore. We plan to have the books available at the Chili Cook-Off in April.
With our wishes for a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy 2025!
Michelle and Cherie
