Incentives
My question is “Do we really need incentives to promote membership?” I would say no, but there are members that just need that extra PUSH to bring in a new member. If that is what it takes to GET YOURS, then by all means we will offer incentives to do it.
It was great to see everyone and talk to everyone at Officer’s Training last month. We shared a lot of recruitment ideas and had a chance to go over our membership incentives. For those of you that weren’t there, this is what we are offering.
New this year is the I Got Mine - Did You? T-shirt program. Sign up 5 new members and earn a shirt. It’s that simple. Once you submit 5 new applications (these have to be 5 NEW members to the organization – not renewals or expired members) to the office, let Marie know what size shirt you need. She will verify the 5 memberships, and your shirt will be ordered. Your shirt will be hand delivered to you via District Directors or Regional Reps using the board meetings as a starting point. The process could take 6 weeks or so, so be patient. Shirts will not be mailed to save the program costs. Good luck and wear your shirts proudly. You are only allowed to earn one shirt per year.
We are still offering the submit 10 memberships earns you a free membership program. The 5 new members signed up under the I Got Mine program above will count towards your 10 memberships. You are able to sign up as many members as possible each year and earn free memberships along the way. The memberships include new, expired more than 6 months, couples (count as 1), Lifetime, and couples Lifetime (count as 1).
The collect 4-card program is on-going. This incentive is available to first and second year members only. If you go to 4 regional or state meetings within your first 2 years of membership you earn a one-year extension of your own membership. When attending these meetings ask the regional representative for a card. Once you have collected 4 cards send them into the office and your membership will be extended by a year.
Beginning in 2025 there will be Membership awards given at the annual meeting for the highest membership sales by Individual and by Region. The memberships that count toward this award include new memberships, memberships that have been expired for 6 months or longer, Couple Memberships (count as 1), Lifetime Memberships, and Couple Lifetime Memberships (count as 1).
It’s almost spring. Make sure you have your supply of membership forms in your pocket. Hand them out wherever you ride. Make sure the information written on those applications is legible and please use given names – not nicknames when taking an application from someone.
