2 Months But Who's Counting?
The Summer Hummer Committee is hoping that you are all doing your part in letting everyone know about the Hummer. That includes taking all of those posters we handed out to regional reps and getting them dispersed to your favorite businesses and establishments. The more people we can get to attend, the better we can grow this party!
If you don’t already know, the musical lineup is as follows:
Thursday – Tuck Pence – Swamp Water Boogie – Dave Steffen Band
Friday – Enuff Said – The Sociables
Saturday – Gregg “Cheech” Hall – Double Threat – Sammy Ray and Friends
Sunday - Shady Glen Band*New This Year* as a thank you to those members that stick around to help clean up after the party.
We are still offering the sponsorship banner program found on page 21 of this newsletter. Even though we have past the dates for sponsors to be included on our official poster, new sponsors can take advantage of the banner program. Great River Harley Davidson in Onalaska was a banner sponsor a few years ago and their banner still graces the bar area at the land. That’s pretty good advertising there. We don’t guarantee longevity for these banners, but you never know – so pass this along to your business/establishment “Friends” when you solicit.
Saturday only offers our “Bring You Own Everything” swap meet. Last year we were rained out, so everyone is pretty excited to get this off the ground this coming June. The cost to set up and sell your wares is the gate entry fee. Set up a table for the day and get the chance to sell or find what you have been looking for. It’s a good chance to look for that old part you haven’t been able to find on a stockroom shelf.
We are also promoting our Ride In Bike Show. Registration is on Saturday morning and we sure get some pretty sharp bikes – new and old – to look at and drool over. There are multiple prizes and different categories. Please tell your friends – even if they aren’t a member. Maybe this will be the thing that let’s you Get Yours! Here’s Hopin’.
Your Summer Hummer T-shirt order form is found in this newsletter. Pre-ordered shirts will be available for pick up at the Hummer. You won’t be disappointed in the design.
John Stumpner will again be holding a Bike Wash by the brown palace to generate a little cash for the Junior Patriots. I’m sure our bikes will come in a little dusty, so let’s take advantage of his soap on, soap off skills. Right Miagi?
Below is a list of Summer Hummer department leads. When you decide which area you are interested in volunteering for, give them a call and get on the schedule. The more we can do to help out, the better the Hummer will Hummmmm. One area that always needs help is restroom cleanup. Get together with your region and take a 4-hour shift. Any member that completes (2) four-hour shifts will earn themselves $15 worth of ABATE Hummer Bucks. Hummer Bucks can be applied to ABATE products purchases or can be cashed in at the Bar Chip table for Bar Chips.
