2024 Wrap Up

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and deer season. With the 2024 training season in the books, I can report some of our statistics. In the BRC we graduated 206 new riders. The BRC2 classes trained and licensed 31 riders. We also graduated 3 students in the BRC Three Wheel class. It was a good year.

The calendar is already filling up for next season. About the time you get this Newsletter we will have gotten our class schedule set for 2025. We are looking forward to Brandon going through Rider Coach Prep in the Spring and joining Safe Rider. In one week in February there will be Officer Training, the DOT Motorcycle Program Spring Kick-off, Lobby Day and the Safe Rider training day and Board meeting. Lots of excitement!

I want to thank all our coaches for their hard work and dedication to motorcycle safety and training this past year. I also thank Kelley for the great job of keeping all the plates spinning in the office.

At the end of the year, we will see how Wisconsin stands for fatalities for the year. No doubt it will be way too many. It is up to all of us to bring the numbers down. Riding sober, getting trained, riding within your limits, watching for deer and other vehicles, and watching out for each other would easily cut the numbers in half. Let’s all commit to making 2025 a very safe year for motorcycling.

It is also time to get to know your Congressmen, State Senate, and Assembly Reps. Many of you may have new people with the new districts. Start early to make contact, so they know who we are and will be open to our meetings for Lobby Day on February 13.
