Well you shouldn’t be confused about the annual ABATE of Wisconsin Summer Hummer because in just a few days it will begin. As always, it will be held at ABATE Acres between Greenwood and Thorp, WI.
Gates open at noon on Thursday June 13th. Cost is $25 in advance for members, $50 for non-members, at the gate $30 or $55. A single day pass is just $20 for all. Save a little moola and join up if not already a member. The helpful gate folks can take care of this as well as rent you a fire ring or picnic table as well.
Alone? Unloved? On Thursday you can attempt to cure this problem by signing up for The Dating Game or The Newlywed Game presented by Stephanie from Products. There will also be the big bonfire and pre-recorded tunes on Thursday.
Is your ride a bit dirty? Bikini Bike Wash on Friday afternoon can cure that. Or perhaps you like brain freeze. Individual Beer Bobbing is also on Friday. Not into icy neurons? Enter the Kornhole Tournament or watch your favorite rider in The Barstool Races. Live music in the evening under the big tent with Your Mom The Band starting out followed by Back Alley Kings. Quench your thirst in the bar building where you can also purchase weekend raffle tickets, get cash from an onsite ATM, buy ice or make a phone call with the help of an antenna signal booster. Need fresh swag? ABATE Products are available right next door in the BOD meeting room.
Step outside to peruse the food and merchandise vendors or cross to the modern bathroom/shower building to remove the grime of your ride in. All centrally located.
Saturday will be filled to the top with fun biker doings. There will be a multi class Bike Show. A Tattoo Show to show off your skin art. The Kornhole Tournament will finish up. Bike Games. Regional Beer Bobbing with the person who snags the most getting their name engraved on a permanent plaque to be displayed in the bar. And of course, there is the ever-popular Loud Pipes Contest. Music under the tent begins with Blues Tortured Souls followed by Hyde. During the time between bands the winners of all the weekend activities as well as the Statewide Cash Raffle and weekend raffles will be announced.
Want to help out the committee and mingle at the Same time? Work a shift or two in any of the departments. Help sign people in at the gate with Bill and Betty. You could tend bar for a shift helping out Ken. Steph and Dawn in products will be glad for some extra help. Help out with security for Kris. Keep the grounds clean and the ABATE Express running with Worm or give a hand to Laurie in treasury. All of these areas are fun and a great way to mingle with your fellow bikers.
Come to ABATE Acres and just have a blast. Remember this is all for you, why not see how dazed and confused you can be.
