November 2024
Greetings Region 3A! We held our monthly meeting on October 6th, at the Windmill. We started things off with the Pledge, MOS and welcoming of members. In Communications, the next three meetings are on 11/03/24, 12/01/24, & 01/05/25. A donation of a thousand dollars was presented by Brenda Belanger along with Nathan, Shane, and Matthew Krueger to Area Rep. Mike Skaggs in Memoriam of 3A Member Wade Krueger. We thank them for honoring Wade, her boyfriend and their father, with such a generous gift. Wade will truly be missed, Ride In Peace Brother.
In Products, a congratulations goes out to our dedicated Products Rep. Carolyn Kittredge for placing Third in 2024 for sales. We thank her for continuingly having product at the meetings and events. I’m sure she thanks all of you for supporting and buying the products as well. Safety/Share The Road, in Safety, we talked about Fall riding safety. How to deal with wet leaves and slippery roads, tread lightly, reduce speed, mind your brakes, and maintain your bike. With some good riding season still left, be careful of changing weather and road conditions. In Share The Road, no report given. In Legislative, we went over the present issues. Working with legislators to ensure that motorcycles are recognized by connected and autonomous vehicles. Making sure that safe, legal, and accurate fuels are dispensed to all motorists at all Wisconsin gas stations. Right to Repair to ensure a consumer can take their vehicle to any shop for repairs. Actively opposing mandatory helmet and seat belt laws, not because we are against their use, but because, as a precedent, they set the stage for unlimited meddling of government in the personal lives of private citizens. Working with legislators to introduce anti-profiling bills protecting motorcyclists from discrimination. We also discussed on the Federal level, H.J. Res. 199 – A Joint Resolution to stop excessive CAFE Standard and H.R. 906, the “Right to Equitable and Professional Auto Industry Repair Act” Please take these items into account, when casting your ballot for the November 5th Election.
In Treasury, the September report was given by Rachel outlining the money in and out for the month. Congratulations goes out to the Region for placing Second in fundraising for 2024. Thanks to all of the hard work of our members, the support of the establishments, for your time, effort, and donations. In Old Business, the 31st Annual Fun Run drawing came to an end on October 6th. Congratulations to all of the cash winners and thank you to all of the participants and establishments. Also thank you to everyone who brought a dish to pass for the potluck dinner during the drawing as well.
Looking into 2025, we have tentative dates set for our events as follows: Traveling Meat Raffle 01/04/25, Bottoms Up CCO & MR 02/15/25 (Confirmed), Amberg CCO & MR 03/08/25, Triple C Riders / ABATE Region 3A CCO & MR 04/26/25 (Confirmed). Please follow this report for the final dates on these events. Also in the planning is a Brat Fry in May to coincide with a Motorcycle Awareness Rally and the Buck Kittredge Ride in June. We are hitting the ground running and starting work on the 32nd Annual Fun Run hoping to have it at the beginning of 2025. In New Business, no new business.
Calendar of Events will be updated as events are finalized. In Good and Welfare, our Motorcycle Rider’s Foundation Sustaining Organization annual membership was renewed and will be current until 10/01/25. Thanks for your continued support of the MRF going forward into our 31st year. Mike Skaggs gave us a recap of the 18th Annual Ribbon of Hope Ride. What an amazing turnout and support. All the funds stay in the area to help members of our community in their time of difficulties. Another good cause is the Triple C Rider’s 9th Annual Frosty Toy Run which took place on 10/19/24. If you were not able to attend, do not fret, we will be collecting toys, along with passing the hat for this event at our December meeting if you wish to contribute. The toys will be given to children in the Tri-county area hospitals over the holidays until they are gone. Let’s help them out, so they don’t run out for the whole year. Thank you to all of you for what you do and all of your support!
