November 2024

Meetings: October 6th 11 am Shoot’s Bar in Suamico. November 3rd 11 am Shoot’s Bar in Suamico. No December or January meetings due to Thanksgiving, hunting season and my work schedule.

Thank you to all who attended the October meeting and to Shoot’s Bar in Suamico for hosting us. We started things off with the Regional Rep election, Pledge and MOS. I was voted in for another 2 years. Thank you all! I’ll do my best for you.

We discussed Meeting of the Minds, ABATE of WI’s 50th Anniversary Celebration and national coalitions and how we can get more info out to the community and attempt to get them involved in motorcycle rights. Also, on the agenda was having a chili cookoff. We discussed where and when to have it. Dawn will get the licenses after the first of the year, once planning is in motion. I will reach out to Tippy Canoe in Casco and check availability for March. We will finalize details at the November meeting. We did decide to include all chili, soups and booyah. That’s going to be tough to judge, but it’ll still be fun. I’m still looking for other great ideas for fundraising but will need volunteers to help.

20 members from ABATE of WI attended Meeting of the Minds (MOTM) in St Louis. Auntie ABATE, Marlene Bautch, was inducted into the MRF Hall of Fame, along with longtime Freedom Fighter, Imre Szauter from New Hampshire. The weekend was epic, to say the least! The Independent Motorcycle Aftermarket (IMA) panel discussion was alarming to hear several different points of view about motorcycling today. I thanked Guido Zucconi, the HD lobbyist, for speaking and giving us a better outlook on what we’re up against. He had stated that electric motorcycles are the future and that’s the direction they plan to go. We’re definitely moving and shaking! ABATE of WI gives scholarships to individuals who wish to go to national events, up to so many. If you are interested in attending future Heartland STEAM, MOTM or Bikers inside the Beltway in DC, please let Steve Panten or me know.

The 50th anniversary celebration was incredible! The weather was cooperative, we had a great turnout, and we didn’t get arrested. Thank you to Dennis Cleaver, Dave Duffy, Todd Miller, Jiggs Cressy, and Todd and Dawn Riba, from the Heartland STEAM states for attending and for the congratulatory speeches. Steve gave the best speech I’ve ever heard him give. Very informative and powerful! I’m hoping it gets the fires burning under some britches. Also, Rooster got new products that will be available for sale at the regional meetings.

We’re closing out the riding season. If you do continue to ride, please check that tire pressure and watch out for farming equipment and deer. Harvest and the rut are upon us. Slow down for curves you can’t see thru and give yourself enough time to stop.

Don’t forget to vote on November 5th! Your vote matters!

Please follow the “ABATE of Wisconsin Region 3B” Facebook page for updates, changes, high priority alerts, and events. See the “Feature” posts at the top of the page.

Ride safe. Be informed. Live free. Fight for our culture and future.
