November 2024
We held our October meeting at Cimarron in Menasha. Thank you, John, for hosting us. We had awesome attendance! We passed the hat for lunch and John made a bunch of handmade pizzas. They were delicious! We went over the results from the Summer Freedom Ride and last month’s meeting. We also talked about the upcoming events like the 50th Anniversary & Annual Meeting, the Meat Raffle at Jeannes, and Land Closing. We also discussed the Mini Chopper and Sweetheart Cash Raffle. It was the last chance to get your ballot in for State Elections unless you were coming to the meeting to vote in person. Susie let the Region know that she is stepping down as Area Rep. She will stay on thru the end of the year. Thank you, Susie, for your years of service. If anyone is interested in stepping up as an officer, please reach out to me. After the meeting the officers met and discussed our 2025 schedule. Over the next month I hope to finalize dates, times, and locations and we’ll have it in the December newsletter.
The Summer Freedom Ride was our best year yet. Thank you to Bobbers for hosting us and we really enjoyed listening to Jedidiah Tuyls. That new parking lot is really nice! Thank you to all the businesses that were stops in the book; you helped make this a great success. Thank you to the businesses that donated items and gift cards for our raffle baskets; you helped make this a success. And most of all thank you to our volunteers who visited all these businesses. It is seldom done in 1 visit. Your time and gas are greatly appreciated! As many of you know, this is really a year-round event for our volunteers. As I type this, they have already been starting to visit businesses about getting into the 2025 book.
On November 2nd we’ll be hosting our 1st Meat Raffle at Jeanne’s Bar. Raffles start at 2 pm. We will have 10 rounds with 2 prizes each round. We hope you join us and bring your friends.
The Get Your Wheels on Bike & Car Show save the date letters were sent out last month. We have also had volunteers handing out save the dates at various car & bike shows. Hopefully this will lead to a great turnout in May.
The 50th Celebration and Annual Meeting was a great time. Thank you to Pete & Sweets for serving on the elections committee again. Thank you, Jill, for being my helper in decorating the dinner hall and taking photos. There was lots of fun and laughs throughout the weekend. On Saturday we had the Rally at the Capitol, and it gave me goosebumps to see. It was also awesome to see a few other familiar faces from our area. Shout out to Dan & Scooter for making the trip just for the Rally. On Saturday night awards were given, and I have to say congrats to Regions 4A, 3A, & 6A. I’m really proud of how much money our region raised for ABATE last year, but we came in 4th to these Regions. They did a phenomenal job! I’m proud to lose to the numbers they had. On Sunday elections were finished, and I was 1 of the people elected to the Board at Large. Thank you to all who voted. This is such an important right that we should not take for granted. If you have any issues you think we should address, please reach out to me.
Next meeting is at Dorn’s Bar in Charlesburg at 1 pm. We will have lunch provided. I was also able to get more products at the Annual Meeting. Please join us to hear how the meat raffle went the night before, grab some lunch, and get some gear.
Ride safe! See you soon!
Krissy
