A BIG REVEAL by the Summer Hummer Committee is being planned at Officer’s Training.
Although I was unable to attend the January Hummer committee meeting, I can tell you that things are really rumbling behind the scenes. We have a premium event planned that the committee is hoping will bring in many new faces and with that, generate better profits. In addition to this new event, we have secured some musical acts that will make us want to dance the nights away. Better than that though, we are looking to generate interest and excitement for this ABATE fundraiser with our ultimate goal of seeing it grow. We certainly have the perfect place for it. The Hummer is, after all, our biggest and best fundraiser of the year and it gives us the resources we need to be effective in our work of making riding a free and safe experience for all of us who choose this lifestyle. What better way to take care of business (fundraising) than by enjoying a weekend at our very own ABATE Acres? So, be sure to encourage your regions, members, friends, co-workers and family to attend. They won’t be disappointed.
Many, many ideas to improve this weekend are being discussed and I think the planning committee is starting to move in the right direction. If YOU have any suggestions for this event, please send those ideas to abatewis@abatewis.org. They will be forwarded to the Hummer Committee for consideration. It takes a village, you know.
No matter what the committee reveals at Officers Training, success will only be ours if we have attendance. If you haven’t joined us in the past, do so now. We have weekend long raffles, music, food, bike games, a bike blessing, barstool races, beer bobbing, tattoo contest, bike contest…too much to mention, including an attendance raffle which left one lucky winner last year with all the profits (winner took all). Add to that a few new surprises that should make you more than want to come. Attracting ½ of our membership to the event is a step in the right direction. Will you play a part in our success?
