Meetings: 1st Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm (new start time!), Foxview Lanes 2440 W Sunset Dr, Waukesha, WI 53189

May 2024

Meetings: 1F’s Regional Meetings are on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7 pm – Social hour at 6 pm. Meet at Foxx View Lanes, 2440 W. Sunset Dr., Waukesha WI 53189.

Hello everyone from 1F Waukesha.

The Pledge of Allegiance always starts out our meeting. We then pay our respects with a moment of silence for our Brothers and Sisters who are no longer with us. We also pay our respects for all those Men and Women who serve and protect us morning, noon, and night, 365!

I wanted to thank everyone who came out for our “Wax on Wax off” seminar at Triumph of Waukesha. Thanks to our detailing expert Victor, for showing some tricks on how to make your bike look brand new. I’m thinking we will be doing this again next year.

The Awareness Rally was locked in, and we will be having a cookout as we did last year. May 11th on the corner of Moreland Road and I 43. Looking for members to donate hotdogs, buns, or anything you would like to share with your Brothers and Sisters (we already have brats being donated.) Please let me know what you are bringing.

Riding Out the Winter Party was talked about. It would be a joint effort with 1A Milwaukee. The first hurdle would be finding a venue for an affordable price. Second is volunteers to work every aspect of running a successful event. Third is auction baskets, door prizes, and 50/50 raffles. The first two hurdles seem to be the sticking point to get it running. Plus, time isn’t on our side. It was left to “let’s see what happens” at the 1A meeting.

We talked about the John Wiedenhoeft brick at the Motorcycle Memorial in Door County. We have a price of $250.00 for it. But we have to have our order in by the end of April because that’s their cutoff date with the engraving company. It would be ready by the first week of June. We did plan on making it a ride up to the Memorial when the brick is placed. A date wasn’t picked at this time so we can look over the calendar for a month and day. Hopefully, next meeting we will lock it in.

Treasury Report – Bob T. Bob reported that we are just a little short in buying the Memorial Brick for John Wiedenhoeft. I believe we will still be able to buy the brick. Bob says everything else is good to go. Thank you, Bob T.

Legislative Report. BuellBob (until a volunteer takes over). We talked about voting and how important it is to get out and vote. If you don’t vote you really can’t complain about who gets in office. From now until the November election we are going to be inundated with ads. Make sure you have all your questions answered before you vote!

Membership Report – Werner. Werner is making sure anyone who is on the overdue list is being contacted. Thank you, Werner.

Highway Safety – BuellBob (until a volunteer takes over.) Knock the Rust Off is coming up on April 27th. We talked about setting up a course on Friday so on Saturday we just need to put the cones out. Unfortunately, we had to report that we were up to 2 motorcycle fatalities so far this year. Our season hasn’t even begun, and we already have 2. We really need to make an effort to spread the word, RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE!! LOOK TWICE AND SAVE YOUR LIFE!! PLEASE BE SAFE OUT THERE!!!

Share the road Report – Bob T. Nothing new to report. Can’t seem to get into any schools at this time.

Products Report – Janet S. Unfortunately, Janet was not able to attend our meeting. Mikey did talk about new products that

are coming at the Summer Hummer. Thank you Mikey, for filling in.

Well, it’s May as you read this. It is Motorcycle Awareness Month. There are rallies planned all over our state so drivers are encouraged to look for riders. With the weather we have been having there have been a lot of motorcycles already out and about. And unfortunately, we already have some fatalities because of this. Every year we participate in the rallies holding signs, walking up and down sidewalks in an attempt to be seen. We need to also look at ourselves and think, be aware of our surroundings and our environment as we are riding. Still , enjoy the beauty of the ride, but keep your eyes open for any potential problems that may arise. This might help you have a great ride and come home to your loved ones every time.

Let’s Be Safe Out There!

May God Bless You. May God Bless America.

Waukesha Strong!

BuellBob
