The Summer Hummer is over for this year. From my perspective, it will be around for many years to come. It was great to see so many State Officers and Past Executive Directors not only in attendance but see them working shifts in different areas of the event. I also want to thank everyone that works so hard to make this great fundraiser and recruiting opportunity happen. You know who you are – so thank you.
The Hummer is also a time and place where many members renew their memberships and new members sign up and this year was no exception. It was nice to see that we renewed some members that have been expired for many years. We have the opportunity now, to keep them active so, let’s work together to do just that.
We are accepted well by the local community, and this is a great way to let people know who we are, what we stand for and why we are working so hard to preserve our right to ride our motorcycles. ABATE Acres is a great asset for us and I know in the future we will develop many more ways to not only make money to support our cause, but to recruit more members.
If you missed the Hummer, you missed a good time and a good opportunity to network with hundreds of like-minded people. I hope to see all of you next year at this fundraising event. This is an important event that gives our membership a chance to work side by side with ABATE’s leadership. Again, the Hummer provides us with new members and that makes us better prepared to fight the legislation that could be detrimental to our way of life. In other words, the Summer Hummer isn’t just a party. It’s an opportunity.
Last month I am happy to say, our overall membership total was up a bit. That is good news. I think we are all working hard to get the word out and that really makes a difference.
Don’t forget to get yours. I got mine. Remember, if every member gets a member, we will have twice the power we have now. Please think about that. Just One.
Ride Safe, Ride Free, Ride with ABATE.
