Land Committee

ABATE Acres Report & Future Improvements Status

Pavilion talk is turning into pavilion action and things are starting to rumble. The Land Committee has put the building up for bids. Now we wait in anticipation for the numbers to start coming in. I am very confident that the Band Shelter/Pavilion will be up by next year’s Summer Hummer. A big bonus for the Hummer budget because that will mean no more tent rentals of $3,000+ per year. The building economy status is at its peak regarding costs, so finger’s crossed, the bids will be favorable and the building will be doable this coming spring.

By the time this newsletter goes to print, land closing will be a thing of the past. This year there were 26 people helping us button up for winter. Thank you to all that participated. When many hands do a job, it doesn’t seem like work. I’ve made some pretty good friends while working side by side with them at our land.

Be sure to plan now for the 2022 events coming up. I think once you’ve made a trip to ABATE Acres, you will keep coming back.

May 15 & 16, 2022 Land Warming.

June 16, 17 & 18, 2022 is Summer Hummer.

August 12, 13 & 14, 2022 is Family Campout Weekend.

October 14, 15 & 16, 2022 is Land Closing.

BOD Meetings are held the second Sunday of the month at the land in May, June, July, August, and September.

Wishing for an early spring….and Happy Thanksgiving, All!
