What an adventure this trip was. First of all, Seven and I were lucky enough to spend 13 days on the road and managed not to get rained on once. This is a huge accomplishment since we usually get rained on every time we take a trip.
Having the opportunity to be around so many like-minded people is always inspiring. With representatives from across this country sharing knowledge, you can’t help but learn something. For me, this was no exception. I accidentally sat in on the executive meeting, and although I was not really supposed to be there, they welcomed me to stay. I was gifted with learning more about how this organization works from a behind-the-scenes perspective. So much work goes into this organization and all of it is voluntary.
I was completely shocked to learn that I had made the top 10 MRF recruiters in the country and received an award. Pretty amazing, especially considering that I didn’t think I would even come close. Funny that 3 years ago, I was yelling at Chubby and Steve to prove to me why this was important, and I now hold positions in both the MRF and ABATE of WI. Honestly, it was the police that convinced me more than anything, but it certainly opened my eyes.
I was honored to sit and listen to a first-hand account of what happened in Waco and to hear that these people are still waiting to get their possessions back. Privileged to listen to a talk on how to collect data in my state and make it work for us, and blessed to have prayed with hundreds of like-minded people as we rang the bell for all those who went before us this past year.
I was able to take from this a renewed excitement to share the MRF and ABATE of WI with people I meet and with only a few weeks since I have returned home, signed up 4 new members already.
Thank you to ABATE of WI for the scholarship to attend this event. I hope that I can continue to represent us and look forward to making this great again for bikers.
Sincerely,
Cathy Dial
