Summer Hummer Report

The sun is staying out longer, there is a warm feel to the breeze and talk is turning to riding and what is going on this year at the Summer Hummer. Well let’s see what we got so far, this month.

The advance tickets are available!! They are 25.00 dollars in advance so drop a check in the mail to the state office and get them ordered up ore go to your local meeting: many regions took the advance tickets and raffle tickets home from Officers’ Training for sale in the regions.. While sending a check in for the tickets maybe throw in your yearly membership money and save the postage on that.

Gary K  and his crew are getting trophy’s and the ballots made up for his bike show. ALL bikes are welcome and it is a ride in bike show so it does not have to be perfect. There will be the opportunity for a few dollars to have the girls wash the bike up if you are really nervous about it.  So, you have that to start planning, what little chrome or trim will set your bike apart from the others.

The new design for the Hummer t-shirt should be decided on and will be available, mostly, on a pre-order sale. The product girls will have several different t-shirt styles to choose from. They will have a few different sizes available for purchase at the hummer but if you want to be sure to get the style you want, order ahead of time.

Tom Babbitt is working on a tour of the area set up involving stops at some of the local bars and restaurants. Most of these are within 50 miles of your land the hummer is held at and you can take some time going up to the Summer Hummer and hit these stops and get entered in for a drawing for prizes and money.

Cheryl Sheridan is planning a hospitality event to replace the Poker Walk. Regions are encouraged to open up your camp to friends walking by. Maybe offering them a seat to relax along with a refreshing beverage of your choice. The people participating will be voting  able on the site that was the most cordial and I am sure had the best testing beverage. The winner of this event will get an award to signify your winning that you will be able to hang at your site next year. Or take a ride on the Hummer Express and take it easy between stops and take a few minutes to talk with the other riders on the bus.

Ok and for those that dare there will be a daily Underwear Parade being scheduled. Ride around the camp site as scantily as you choose and enjoy the wind on your skin. I don’t see B.G. Shuter doing this.

Next month we will go over the bands, your Hummer Reporter is working on getting an interview with one of the bands to get their view of playing at this event and what they are looking at doing. Maybe we can get an exclusive of the inside life of a band playing at the Hummer.

Till next month,

B. G. Shuter
