Update on the Pavilion Project

Update on the Pavilion Project

Fundraising campaigns are on-going to make this pavilion a reality. Join in our efforts and become a part of history.

We still have a way to go before the pavilion project has earned enough money to be paid in full by donations. Please consider passing a hat, making individual donations, or buying a brick to get us to our goal and earn the entire amount needed for construction. not using one cent of membership money. Our ultimate goal is to have 100% of the project funded through donations, not using one cent of membership money. We’ve done it before. Let’s do it again.

The Brick Cornerstone Project campaign is ongoing. This campaign allows you to purchase an engraved brick to be included in a cornerstone wall that will be constructed on site once the pavilion is completed and will allow you to become part of a permanent structure at the land. More information and an order form are found on page 3 of this newsletter.

If you didn’t read it last month, at the July Board meeting it was decided to award the pavilion build to Brickl Brothers, Inc. out of West Salem, WI. Stan Brickl, owner of the company, is an ABATE member. We received an updated material bid from them to account for current construction material costs and the contract is signed. The project will be scheduled for construction either in December 2022 or in March of 2023. This means no more tent rental at the Summer Hummer, a cost savings to us of approximately $4600 per year. Although the land will be “Officially Closed,” be sure to drive by between December and March to see the work in progress.
