Treasury Report

by Laurie Thompson

Thank you to everyone who attended officer’s training – I hope you enjoyed the weekend and came home energized with great ideas! I’m sorry that I couldn’t be there to meet with the treasurers (and everyone), my sick toddler kept me close to home… and I heard that so many others stepped up to help! I would like to give a special thank you to my partner in crime, Sally Doxtator – she really kept things running smoothly!

I know that there was a lot of new information in regards to raffles and runs that you are holding in your region, if you have any further questions at all or just need more clarification on something, please don’t hesitate to call or e-mail. Sally and I have had numerous conversations with the State Raffle Auditor and have certainly done our homework on how things need to be done. Everything is outlined very well in the update to the policy & procedures manual, so please use that as a reference as well.

The Pre-Event form had some slight adjustments and a copy has been sent to all the region treasurers. If you are planning an event in your region, please begin using the new form immediately.

Congratulations to the Sweetheart Raffle winners! 1st place was Dale Roginski, 2nd place was Megan Stumpf and 3rd place was Tammi Day. Thank you to everyone who helped to sell the tickets and of course to all that purchased!

As one raffle ends… a new one begins… tickets are for sale and out at the regions for the Summer Hummer Cash Raffle. If you did not get tickets at officer’s training, or you need more tickets, please contact Ken Nelson (715) 296-5404. Please remember that sold and un-sold tickets will be returned to your district director to be delivered to me or Ken at a board meeting. Tickets cannot be sent through the mail! Tickets are $5 each or a book of 5 for $20. Grand prize $5,000, 1st place $2500, 2nd place $1500, and 3rd place $1000. Drawing will be held on Saturday, June 16 at the Summer Hummer (around 9pm).

Now begins my search for volunteers at the hummer.. as you are reading this it will only be 3 short months away! If you are interested in helping with the bar chip table, miscellaneous raffle sales or coffee cart please contact me. Don’t worry! No experience necessary for any of these jobs plus it’s a great way to meet new friends! You will probably see an e-mail from me in the coming months asking again for help.. and as it gets closer I will start asking more frequently (it may be considered begging at that point)… please consider helping out with one of these areas.

I appreciate all of you and what each of you do to help keep this organization great – have a fabulous month!
