Settling In For Winter and Planning for Spring

Update on the Pavilion Project

It’s a go. According to what we’ve heard from Brickl Brothers the project is good to go the first/second week in December. Materials should be delivered and barring unforeseen circumstances, the building should be complete within a couple of weeks. Halleluiah! Next time you come up to the land, you should be able to see what we’ve been planning for several years now. Next will be building the Cornerstone Wall which will be erected in close proximity to the structure itself. The wall design won’t be complete until we know how many bricks have been purchased. We plan on building it in late spring, hopefully by the Hummer.

As you know, one of our main objectives in building this pavilion is having it 100% paid for with donations. If you haven’t purchased a brick yet, please consider doing so. It not only helps our efforts in fundraising, but it also will leave your footprint so to speak, at ABATE Acres itself, for current and future members to see. Whenever I go to a place that involves engraved stones, I always take extra time to read them. The people listed there believed enough in the cause or the project to leave their name etched as a testimonial for future generations.

We still have a bit to go before the building is entirely paid for with donations, something we have vowed to do. We do this because not all of our members support the idea of ABATE owning this property, so we will not use money from membership funds to make improvements here. Improvements made to date at the land are paid for through fundraising efforts and donations. This means our fundraising campaigns are still in full swing. Join in our efforts to complete the fundraising needed to build the pavilion. More information and an order form are found on page 3 of this newsletter. If a brick is not in your plans, please consider donating any amount. Mail a check notated for the Pavilion Fund and mail it to Laurie Thompson. Her address is on the last page of this newsletter. And from the entire Land Committee and members of ABATE of Wisconsin, Thank You.

Please forward any questions about the project to the Land Development committee.
