Talk about being overwhelmed! Wow! That was as Epic as they come.
Traci and Imre from New Hampshire had a very educational presentation for Reps. I realized how much we actually DON’T do and learned how to fill in those voids, like having a strong relationship with your legislators, as I sat between Mr. Speaker, Sherm and Representative Tom Walsh from NH who I consider my friends.
MRF photographer and publicity guru, Joy Mack put on her 1st ever presentation about how to use social media efficiently. Great job Joy! Chris Callen from Cycle Source Magazine and I attended with a ton of advice, as we’re both Podcasters and avid social media users.
Chris Callen was inducted into the Sturgis Hall of Fame this past August. He was there doing a panel discussion led by Fred Harrell, MRF director of conferences, joined by Hardtail and Bob Kay. Bob and Chris are heading up the Independent Motorcycle Aftermarket (IMA). The new coalitions are what we need for our survival.
I’d have to write you a novel to explain everything I learned in these presentations. It was overwhelming at points but all-in-all it was a great experience that everybody should have. Walking with legends, the topic for my Epic Adventures article this month, is what I came away with. A nationwide system of the most incredible people I’ve ever met, with a wealth of knowledge I’m excited to take in. MOTM is open to all, not just motorcycle rights organizations. Consider going sometime. You won’t regret it and it just might fill some void you have within.
See you at the next stop.
