Rep Steil’s assistant received our packet.
Sen Tammy Baldwin’s Legis Asst got our folder with info.
We met with Rep. Fitzgerald. He is a strong supporter of all the issues discussed. He has always been with us on Motorcycle issues.
Sen. Ron Johnson had time to meet with us and had an interesting take on the Right to Repair Act. He urged a dialog with Harley Davidson on this issue and would support a compromise. He is behind all our other causes.
I enjoyed the trip and the presentations before and after our meetings were very informative. I was pleased to see Rocky taking over lobbying duties from Tiffany who did a fabulous job during her tenure.
Thank you,
Mark Koehler
Our trip started at a gas fill-up location near the Wisconsin/Illinois state line, KSU at 9:30 am Sunday morning the 15th of May.
With limited traffic, toll booths, gas fills, and many hours later, we checked in to our hotel in North Lima, Ohio. Dinner was at a local restaurant and then got some much needed sleep. Mileage for the day was 533.
Monday KSU 8 am, same as above. Arrived at our Alexandria, VA. hotel for film crew to document our arrival. Mileage for the day was 322 with a total of approximately 855 from Wisc.
We met with 150+ Freedom Fighters from across the US to plan the next day’s appointments with elected officials.
On Tuesday, we met at Subway Station for our twenty-minute ride to U.S. Capitol.
On Wednesday morning was our 5 am wake upcall. KSU at 5:35 to avoid the many speeding autos and trucks on an overcrowded freeway. Almost 600 miles later we found a hotel in Angola, Indiana. We slept in the next day, toured DOWNTOWN Chicago freeway, and were back in the Milwaukee area by 2 PM 260-mile day.

The trip to Bikers In The Beltway started much better than last year. We did not have RAIN this year!
We started out with four of us riding and picked up the fifth rider later in the day at our first hotel stop.
Weather was great, but the truck traffic was terrible. Eighteen wheelers have no use for anythng but other trucks on the roads. It also seemed like every large bridge in the country is under construction. This means you have temporary lanes set up for the construction. Motorcycles do not like temporary lanes! We made it with no problems, but it took the fun out of the ride. Arrived in Washington the next afternoon and met with the other members of the organization. It was great and we even got Rocky to buy a beer. GO FIGURE!
We met with the members of congress we were assigned to, and had many pictures taken. It was a good reception and we felt like a lot was accomplished. ABATE officers feld like a lot was accomplished. It was good on the way home as we missed the rain that had been forcast.
This was well worth the effort and the people that have not done this should seriously consider going ont his event in the future.
