ABATE Acres Report

by Robert “Worm” Grasse

ABATE Acres shined at the Summer Hummer. Even though I was recovering from the “Deer Encounter,” it was great to see so many people at the land having a good time. Every year we make more improvements to the event and it gets better and better each time we have it. It goes to show what a great crew we had during land warming to get us ready for the Hummer. And we could not get through a Hummer without the people that volunteered to make it as good as it was. We did have a little rain that caused a few campers to get sucked in on Wednesday, but by now those areas have been smoothed out and are taken care of so the land is back in good condition. Be sure to use this land during the summer. There are still a lot of members that haven’t been there to see what we have and I hope to meet some of them over the next few months.

The ABATE Family Campout is coming up next month. Be sure to bring the family and experience what the Junior Patriots do each August. Saturday is a potluck dinner. Bring a dish to pass and enjoy. Questions about the family campout go to John Stumpner – Jrpatriot@abatewis.org.
