ABATE on the Internet

by John Stumpner

Perhaps you may be wondering what ABATE of Wisconsin members do and what ABATE is all about. The internet and social media are one way you can see, in pictures, what ABATE of Wisconsin is up to. Most of ABATE of Wisconsin’s current leadership grew up in the printed age, so ABATE on social media may be a little behind to most younger people, but, if you look, you can find a lot of stuff related to ABATE activities on the internet.

ABATE of Wisconsin of course, has its own web site at abatewis.org. This web site has all things related to ABATE of Wisconsin in one place. One can join or renew their membership, buy ABATE products, view the Share the Road video, or get linked to ABATE’s official Facebook page. One section provides all the help and information one needs to contact our elected representatives in both the State and Federal governments. One fascinating section (under the “ABOUT” tab) is the history of ABATE of Wisconsin. This section contains a series of articles by Tony “Pan” Sanfelipo, one of the founding fathers of the organization, detailing the history of ABATE of Wisconsin and showing why it is one of the best state biker’s rights organizations in the country.

A search on Facebook will reveal at least 18 Facebook pages for various ABATE Districts, Regions and events. This is where interested people can find out what is going on in those areas and find pictures of past events. The official state Facebook page is ABATE of Wisconsin, Inc. Here one can find the most up to date information about ABATE of Wisconsin and see pictures of past events. The pictures of past events show what you can look forward to as you join in the various ABATE events. The Motorcycle Matters Ride gallery shows the huge number of motorcycles that rode to the state capitol in October 2021. The ABATE Family Campout 2019 gallery shows all the fun you will have at the family camp out every August.

For a couple years now, ABATE of Wisconsin members have been raising money for some new construction at ABATE Acres. This month, construction is finally starting on the new band pavilion. This is a huge project, and you can view pictures of the construction on ABATE’s Facebook page as they become available and are posted. Check often for these pictures as this has been the longtime dream of many ABATE members.
