Region 2E: Calumet County

December 2024

We held our November meeting at Dorn’s Bar in Charlesburg. Thank you to Chuck and Ann for opening early & hosting us. We had a potluck lunch that everyone enjoyed. Thank you to Pete & Susie for filling in for me since I wasn’t feeling well. We discussed the 50th Anniversary Annual Meeting, ABATE Election Results, and other updates from the state. We also briefly went over the results from our 1st Meat Raffle, but I didn’t have everything tabulated yet. Members have been busy reaching out to businesses to see if they would like to get in the Summer Freedom Ride books again. Pete & Jill finished a bunch before heading south for the winter. Susie also filled us in that Chad & Paula mailed out the reminders for the Get Your Wheels on Bike & Car Show to past participants. We also talked about the election which was just a few days away and the importance of voting.

A big THANK YOU to Nikki at Jeanne’s Bar for hosting us for our Region’s 1st Meat Raffle. Also thank you to her & Lexi for keeping the drinks flowing and to the customers of Jeanne’s for supporting us. Major shout out to Jill for running the raffles with me! Thank you to Woldt’s Farm Store for supplying the meat for the raffle. They donated a gift card and shirt to raffle as well. Overall, because of everyone involved, we had a successful 1st Meat Raffle. It sounds like we’ll do some more in the future. Scheduling for 2025 is in the works.

Next meeting is December 1st at Quinney Quencher in Quinney. Paul has some great food so feel free to grab yourself some lunch. Krissy will be bringing some desserts for all to enjoy. There will also be an attendance prize for 1 lucky winner. With the election results in, we will be talking about how our objectives are being affected and what our plan is for Lobby Day on February 13th.

I hope to see lots of you at the next meeting. I’m really excited about the information we’ll be sharing.
