Meetings: Third Sunday – See Text

ABATE 4C December 2024 Meeting. Shannon K. CTO at 1:45 pm. 14 members present. Randy C. led the Pledge. Thank you, Mary and Travis from the One Shot in Owen for hosting our meeting and Christmas party. Paul S. read the November minutes with no additions or corrections. Tom B read the Treasurer’s report. All accounts and upcoming raffle costs have been met. Tom also talked of the Board of Directors meeting.

102 fatalities for 2024, 101 for 2023, still too many.

The Hummer was discussed. One band has cancelled. The 2025 budget was discussed, cost of lobbyist is high. Tom suggested a motorcycle ride during the Hummer, a no vote. New at the 25 Hummer, a band will play on Sunday.

Tom had an issue with reordering checks. MRF donations were taken for our region. A smaller monthly donation was suggested.

Old business: Regional Motorcycle awareness Rally to be held at Strike Time Lanes in Neillsville, will have a brat fry at the event. Will insurance be an issue? Tom said we are covered under a blanket policy.

In September, Ron Pogodzinski, resigned as Regional Rep for 4C. Shannon Kayhart was nominated to fill that position. Shannon accepted the nomination. He was unanimously voted in.

New business: Ron Pogodzinski was appointed temporary Legislative Rep. by Shannon. Pogie tells us California Air Resources Board (CARB) has backed off on electric motorcycle mandate. 37th Assemblyman, Penterman, has introduced right to repair bill LRB 0007 P2.

Shannon spoke of an idea to raffle off memberships.
