Dear “Cuz”,
I’ve heard a lot of comments from one side of the fence to the other about this COVID-19 thing. Who do you believe anyway?
Sheltered in Place so long I’m getting Pale.
Dear Pale,
As long as the hairs on my grand pappy’s chin, there’s been unrest amongst the troops regarding a lot of topics and this is one of them. There always seems to be either a political, ethical or economic issue for everyone to get their underwear in a bundle over and a lot of people just plain like to hear themselves talk. It seems as if these days, everyone tries to make every issue a political one. The best thing to do is to research topics for yourself and make a decision that’s right for you. In all my years, I’ve never found anyone to have the final, exact, right decision, because what is right for you, may not be right for me. So do your research and make the best decision that you can live with.
This is an election year. Elections are taking place on a national, statewide and regional level. Do your research here, too. You’ve heard Steve Patten say many times before that those political friendships that we can develop now will go a long way in getting our work done when we need someone in our corner. That goes for our ABATE organization too. I can’t tell you how many good friendships that have been developed over the years because someone was willing to put in some time and effort, or maybe just brought the chips when asked to. Let’s make an effort, do our research, stay respectful, and back the best candidates we can work with to make the country and our organization a better place. Sometimes we need to look at the bigger picture. Whatever you decide, do the research.
