Dear Cuz,
Does anyone ever learn anything at these Officer Training Meetings? If you’re an officer, don’t you already know it all?
Not sure who needs to go
Dear Needy,
There is no such thing as knowing it all. No matter how many times you sit in on a meeting, there is always, always something new to learn. It could be the way you approach members at a meeting – or how to figure out who to give what job to – or how to get your raffle licenses in order and hold fundraisers. It might be learning how to approach our Legislators during Biker Day at the Capitol, or what our legislative agenda is for 2021. It might even be how to run a successful meeting. Our recent Officer’s Training had the old ABATE officer’s (by old I don’t mean grey by golly – but experienced) teaching the new….and the new member have been known to teach us old folk a thing or two too like how do you post something noteworthy on this thing called Facebook. But the best part of these trainings is learning who to go to if you have questions and making some of the best friends you’ll ever have.
It’s always good to fine tune your instrument and this is what Officer’s Training does. If you didn’t learn anything know this. ABATE of Wisconsin is a premium SMRO and a lot of other SMRO’s around the country look to us for guidance. So, be proud needy member, you’re with some of the best and the reason we are one of the best is because we hold ABATE retreats called Officer’s Training.
