Dear Cuz;
I keep reading about events all over the state that other regions are putting on. Can I go to any of these, or do I have to attend meetings and events in my own region where I belong? I’m new to all this and just learning.
Locked in My Neighborhood?
Dear Neighbor,
It’s time to dust off your leathers and hit the road. Any ABATE member can attend any meeting or any function in any part of the state, including Board Meetings that are held once a month. Going to events is where you will really learn the ropes and meet some pretty great people too. A lot of us have formed life-long friendships just by meeting up with other members that go to events or regional meetings that aren’t their own. It’s a great way to share ideas of how your region runs events and to learn what other regions do that you can take back home to try. Your Cuz has been a member for a bit over 22 years and last weekend I learned a few new ways to run a chili cook-off. By God, you can teach an old dog new tricks!
Stay open minded, ask questions, chum around with the crowd, and have a lot of fun. The weather is finally turning, and we can explore the wide-open spaces again. Chili season is almost over, but here comes the Motorcycle Awarenss Rallies. See you on the road.
Your ever loving “Cuz”
