Hi Folks, as District Director and Region Rep for 1E, I have volunteered us, (Region 1E), for the state meeting in October. It will be held Oct. 11-13 in Johnson Creek at the Comfort Inn and Suites. If that sounds familiar, that’s where Rebel and Melinda host their New Year’s Eve party. This event will be held the same way. ABATE will be the only guests there and booking rooms will be handled thru ABATE, as there are limited rooms with whirlpools. Reservations will be done on a first come, first served basis. There is further info in this newsletter as to the particulars.
I would ask as DD, for all the regions in our district to pitch in with whatever you can, be it volunteers, stuff for the Hospitality Room, whatever, all help will be appreciated. This is our 45th Anniversary and I’d really like to show the rest of our members the District 1 Hospitality. I have a few plans in the works as far as entertainment for both nights. Saturday there will be a ride throughout the region and for those who don’t want to ride, the hotel is ¼ mile away from an outlet mall! There’s also a multiplex, several restaurants and bars. If you travel into Johnson Creek seeking liquid refreshment, stop by The Milwaukee Roadhouse, otherwise known as Schitzo’s or The Corner. He’s a strong ABATE supporter and it’s only right. I’m working on setting up a shuttle for Sat afternoon so, it’s easier for folks. I am in search of a few tricycles capable of carrying an adult for Friday night. If anyone has one, please get ahold of me. I have some great fun planned!
Now as for MY region, sorry guys, didn’t mean to break it this way, but most of you knew it was coming, lol. I have faith that we can knock this out of the park! Our region is strong to the core and it’s step up time. The next regional meetings will be very important, and I would highly suggest attending. As for the rest of the regions in the district, for those reps I haven’t already contacted, I will be doing so. I realize I accepted this on behalf of my region, however, District 1 has the most populated regions in the state. So, I think we all can do this together and really succeed.
Please stay tuned to future newsletter articles I post as I’ll reveal more details as they become firm. Also, if you don’t already do it, follow District1 or ABATE of WI on Facebook. I post on there a lot pertaining to things happening in the region or district. It’s faster to spread the word. Thanks for your time, and I’m looking forward to this! Stash
