What would you do if you were invisible for one day? My answer: Everything I already do, but nakeder! I am an extremely blunt and honest person, so being exposed to criticism cannot impede my moving forward. Living free and having the right to choose my own destiny, how I live, what I can and cannot do, making the choice to be happy or angry or anything in between, that’s my choice, that’s being naked. I am my worst critic and enemy and I have 86ed myself from my head. My social anxiety is so far against that back wall of my head, there’s only room for my determination in this house! What am I determined to do? Fight for me! MY life! Ya’ll are a part of that. I fight for our right to be heard, live free, preserve our culture in motorcycling. I educate myself on the things important to me and I try to make friends with like-minded people. Just so happens I’m deeply involved with politics lately. NOT my favorite thing, I hate politics. I just want to live in peace and be left alone. But then I realized that the organizations who are fighting for us are a few great leaders away from failure. It’s the membership, supporters, and friends who keep them strong and motivated. So, I dove in headfirst and got myself overwhelmed. But I’m not dumb so I started asking my friends for help. They gladly took on a lot to help me. That’s what friends are for and that’s what makes us family. We’ve all seen or heard about the childhood friends with the bicycles on the front lawn, then years later it’s motorcycles. This is what Rooster, and his buddies have. It doesn’t matter if they fight or how bad the fight is. All that matters is that they’re back together the next day to do epic stuff together. Welp, they’ve adopted me into their little club. Now I’m the mama and they make me lead on all our rides. I even put ointment on cuts and have eye wash in the shop for when they get something in an eyeball. Ya know, like bugs on a ride.
Okay, okay, I’m getting off track… Anyway, we’ve been on some awesome epic adventures this summer and (if you know, you know) Ricky Bobby and I, with a few more in tow, are going to Sturgis for Bike Week. Some of them have never been there. I’m hoping to give them the best experience of their lives so far. Life’s too short to not go on the adventures. Just ride! But be safe! Until next month, stay humble and feel the wind.
