There was a great exchange of ideas at our committee meeting in Green Bay. We came together with a workable budget to forward to the finance committee and BOD for approval and discussed some things that will entice people to come. Our goal is to double our attendance from the 2019 Hummer. Entertainment will start on Wednesday night with a local band that has agreed to play for tips. Tentatively scheduled for the rest of the weekend is: Thursday night, Back Alley Kings; Friday early – Bobby Evans – late – Dave Larson band from the Sociables; Saturday early – 2-man band that plays Hog Corners – late, REO Speedwagon cover band (two original band members play in this cover band). The lineup should make for some great movin’ and shakin’. Next up is Taste of Summer at the Hummer beer, wine, cheese, and meat tasting is still planned for Saturday afternoon. Day passes are required, and an additional fee gets you into the tasting tent which will focus on Wisconsin microbrew companies and wineries, cheese makers and meat markets. Our hope is that this separate event within our event will bring in some of the locals to see what we are about. Sponsorship flyers are in the making and will be sent out to statewide businesses. If you know of a business who wants to get their name out there on our website, our flyers, our newsletter, our social media Facebook page, and our event booklet, etc. this might be a good time for them to drum up some much needed business by becoming a sponsor and offsetting part of our costs of Hummer 2021. A win – win situation. Contact Bob Aprill to get sponsorship forms or to let him know of a potential sponsor. We hope to have the quad-fold flyers ready for disbursement by the November BOD meeting. Advertising – the committee is putting some big bucks in advertising with 8 area billboards, some radio and of course, flyers/small cards to be handed out that will drive people to the website, which, by the way, will have a countdown to the event. The best advertising we can use though, is our own word of mouth. Please bring your friends and neighbors, your co-workers and sweethearts, your region, and your good fun-loving attitudes. It’s bound to be a fun weekend. And remember, what happens at the land, stays at the land.
