Give’r Hell in ’21 – Can you feel it?

Can you feel it? The excitement is starting to build! It’s been said that there’s nothing better than a Hummer in the Summer and I’m here to tell you that statement is definitely true. What’s a Hummer, you say? Well, let me put it this way – come on out to ABATE Acres in Greenwood, WI. on June 17th and I’ll show you firsthand.

Can you feel the excitement? Things are starting to rumble behind the scenes.

Can you feel the excitement about the Vendors? There’s a lot of talk about the vendors. Our vendor spots are filling up fast, so if you know someone who has a niche and likes to vend, have them vend with us. You can never have too many knickknacks. Can you feel the excitement about the Music? There’s a lot of talk about the Music. With a line up like ours, you’ll need two pairs of boots to dance your feet off. For those setting up, music starts on Wednesday with a jam session held by some local bands that will play for tips. The Line-up for Thursday is the Back Alley Kings; Friday is Bobby Evans then Double Threat; and Saturday night is Eager Beaver followed by the Richrath Project 3:13 an REO Speedwagon tribute band widely known throughout the Midwest region. Check out the Richrath Project 3:13 website where they are already advertising the Summer Hummer.

Can you feel the excitement about the Tasting? or The Taste of Summer at the Hummer. Like to try new things? Now’s your chance. There are a number of breweries, wineries, cheese shops and meat lockers that will entice you with their wares to visit them under the big top on Saturday afternoon. There is an additional $25 entry fee to the tasting tent. Once you enter, enjoy a plethora of beers, wines, cheeses, and meats for 3 hours. Oh my. Can you feel the excitement about the Activities? Activities like the Bike Games, like the Beer Bobbing, like the Barstool Racing, like the Bikini Bike Wash, like the Attendance Raffle (100% of the take goes to the winner – who needs to be under the big tent on Saturday night with the matching ticket to collect or money goes to ABATE), like the Regional Theme Camping contest, like the People Hauler, like the Tattoo contest …there’s more, but too many to mention.

What will this COST me?
NEW ***Buy your advance tickets online*** go to www.abatewis.org and click on the Summer Hummer link. The tickets will be mailed to you. Advance tickets are also available through your regional reps. Members and Non-members alike will save $5 by purchasing in advance.

Ticket prices this year are: Day Passes (Saturday Only) – $25
Weekend Member Advanced – $35
Weekend Member at Gate – $40
Weekend Non-Member Advanced – $70
Weekend Non-Member at Gate – $75

Remember, a $10 discount will be given to new members attending the Hummer for the first time. Those coupons will be sent with membership information at the time they join. Those joining at the gate will be given the discount on site. So, if you got YOURS (new Member) – bring YOURS (new Member) to the Hummer!

Can you feel the excitement about the event T-shirt? Awesome design – great price. They are available online or send in the order form found in this newsletter. Deadline for ordering is May 14th – so don’t dilly-dally and get yours while you can.

How Do I VOLUNTEER? Feel the love (for the volunteers).
In this newsletter are Hummer area leads. Contact these people for volunteering. Please consider volunteering for a 4-hour shift to help ease the burden. New this year – a limited number of volunteers that work (2) 4-hour shifts (a total of 8 hours) will qualify for a refund in the amount of a Member Advanced Ticket or $35. This is on a first-come, first served basis, so volunteer soon. Remember you must volunteer and work a full 8 hours to qualify, and you must present your volunteer work vouchers at the time of payment – which will be made in the form of ABATE Bucks that are good for ABATE products or for beer chips.

Can you feel the excitement about our advertising? We have billboards, we have radio ads, we have posters, we have websites, but …. Our best advertising is YOU…. We Need You to start talking up the Hummer by word of mouth. Talk about the loud pipes contest, the bike games, the people hauler, the beer bobbing, the bonfire, the great food, vendors, and the Taste of Hummer. But most of all, talk about the camaraderie and friendships made there. Look for Hummer posters, billboards, and business cards.
