ABATE is starting to gear up and hit the advertising road.
Check the Hummer Facebook Page:
Our Summer Hummer Facebook page is up and running and starting to get noticed. Check it out if you haven’t already. It is starting to get some action and new items continue to be added.
Check the Hummer Website Page:
By the time you read this, we should have some additions to the Hummer page on the ABATE of Wisconsin website. Check that out too. Besides our main Hummer flyer, the Taste of Summer at the Hummer flyer should be posted. For those of you who haven’t heard of a “Tasting” before, it is an event you attend where you can sample a variety of, in our case, beer, wine, cheeses and meats, primarily from Wisconsin. This is a prime opportunity for you to see what Wisconsin has to offer. Several meat, cheese, beer, and wine companies will be represented. To take advantage of this opportunity go to the big tent on Saturday afternoon between 1 and 4 pm. There is a $25 entry fee to enter the tasting which entitles you to stay all afternoon enjoying what our vendors have to offer. Beer and wine tastings are currently very popular events and ABATE decided to include cheese and meat to ours – bonus! By adding the Taste of Summer at the Hummer, we are hoping to showcase ABATE and ABATE Acres by attracting some locals who would like to experience a tasting without traveling to a more populated area to do so. For those attending on Saturday for the “Taste”, your $25 gate day pass entitles you to stay to enjoy the bands and all the Hummer has to offer on Saturday night – including camping over because ABATE always encourages drinking responsibly by riding and driving sober.
Also on the web is an order form for an event T-shirt. Just click on the link to get yours. These need to be pre-ordered so if you’re inclined to buy one, do it now. There will only be a few extras available on site. No shipping costs are involved if you pick it up during the Hummer.
Watch for our Billboards and Radio Ads:
Hummer billboards are being locked in as we speak, and our Hummer radio ad will hit the airwaves soon. Be sure to look and listen.
Check out the BANDS:
For those setting up, music starts on Wednesday with a jam session held by some local bands that will play for tips. The Line-up for Thursday is the Back Alley Kings; Friday is Bobby Evans then Double Threat; and Saturday night is Eager Beaver followed by the Richrath Project 3:13 an REO Speedwagon tribute band widely known throughout the Midwest region. Check out the RichRath Project 3:13 website where they are already advertising the Summer Hummer.

How Do I VOLUNTEER?
In this newsletter are Hummer area leads. Contact these people for volunteering. Please consider volunteering for a 4-hour shift to help ease the burden. New this year – a limited number of volunteers that work (2) 4-hour shifts (a total of 8 hours) will qualify for a refund in the amount of a Member Advanced Ticket or $35. This is on a first-come, first served basis, so volunteer soon. Remember you must volunteer and work a full 8 hours to qualify, and you must present your volunteer work vouchers at the time of payment – which will be made in the form of ABATE Bucks that are good for ABATE products or for beer chips.
Our best advertising is YOU…. We Need You to start talking up the Hummer by word of mouth. Talk about the loud pipes contest, the bike games, the people hauler, the beer bobbing, the bonfire, the great food, vendors, and the Taste of Hummer. But most of all, talk about the camaraderie and friendships made there. Look for Hummer posters, billboards, and business cards. If you need items for distribution contact Bob Aprill at (920) 373-3668.
We need every member to bring a member.
Let’s Give’r Hell! Make this one, one to remember!
