Well, you have probably heard that at last month’s Board Meeting the vote was favorable for a membership dues increase. Thank you for all the input you forwarded through your Regional Reps and District Directors. That kind of information, coupled with sound financial projections, was needed in order for the Board to make an informed decision. I think all of us realize that a dues increase was bound to happen sooner or later. After all, my bike cost me a lot more today, than it would have 20 years ago. Our finance committee and Board Members have done an outstanding job of keeping things financially sound and working within our budget. Unfortunately, inflation and the cost of doing business has gone up quite a bit since 1992, which was the last time we had an increase.
Keep in mind that you are able to renew your membership dues at the current rate from now until December 31st. Dues won’t increase until 1/1/20, but you don’t have to wait until your membership renewal date is up to pay your dues. Look at it this way, I’m running a “Sale” on memberships until the end of the year. Just because you aren’t due to renew until next July doesn’t mean you can’t do it now. I’ll just tack another year onto your renewal date and I’ll take your money now. How sweet is that?
A complete list of the new membership pricing is listed below. Please note that although you were always able to renew for longer than one year at a time, ABATE will now offer 3-year memberships as a separate category on your renewal forms.
Regular Single Membership $35.00
Couple Membership $65.00
Lifetime Membership $525.00
Lifetime Couple Membership $975.00
3-Year Single Membership $100.00
3-Year Couple Membership $180.00
It seems, after reading Steve’s article this month, that there’s always work to be done so, thanks for renewing and for keeping us strong…and thanks for the business! Now let’s go riding and have some fun.
