Keep Your Trifolds Handy

by Bill Roberge

The Annual Meeting was held October 7 – 9th in Shawano, WI. It was a great event and I want to thank Region 3C for all of their hard work. It takes a lot of time and effort to organize an event like this.

It was also our election for Executive Officers and Board Members-at-Large who will guide ABATE of WI for the next two years. I would like to thank the election committee for their years of service in this position, Dan Batker, Pete Kuchenriter, and Mary Sweetalla. Their dedication to this process is outstanding.

I recently took a road trip to Buffalo, NY and was face to face with electric cars. All of the travel plazas and some rest areas had charging stations, and the hotels had charging stations. Remember, our battle isn’t to stop this progress, but ta make sure we aren’t left out of the big plan. We need to stand up for our way of life and make sure fuel remains available to us at a fair cost. We need to make sure wee are seen by self-driving vehicles. It may seem like an impossible task, but it isn’t. We need to stand together and share ideas with other organizations that want to keep their way of life viable also.

The best way you can help in this fight is to stay informed, be active in ABATE, and draw in new members. When you are attending the many events like Chili Cook-Offs, etc. this winter don’t be afraid to grab the microphone (with permission, of course) and explain to people what ABATE is all about and why we are holding this particular event.

And always have a membership form or trifold ready to sign up an interested person.

Membership numbers can make a difference.
