Land Committee

by Robert “Worm” Grasse

We are running our “tree sponsorship program once again this year. If you are

interested in purchasing a tree, see page 3 of this newsletter and submit your order form for processing. Once we have all of the sponsorship forms, we will purchase the trees for planting later this fall or next spring. Thanks in advance for this consideration.. The trees are a great addition to our land and something that our future generations will continue to enjoy.

Dates to Remember:

Land Closing: October 16-17-18

Anyone who has spent any time up at the land this summer should be very pleased with the way it looks. Even though the Hummer was cancelled this year, we have had many people drop in now and then to help make our area beautiful. The projects we wanted to complete by the start of the summer season are done, plus more. It is a place where we all work harmoniously, out in the sunshine and let the stress of the world fall off of our shoulders.

Come see the fruits of our labors….the Family Campout is scheduled for August 7, 8 & 9th and finishes up with a Board of Directors meeting on Sunday. If you haven’t been to either one of those events, this is a perfect opportunity to do so.

The land committee has recently added some donation drop boxes at the land. If you come to camp and wish to donate any money to defray some of our maintenance costs, feel free to do so. The facilities are opened all season long and that donation helps us to defray some of the operating expenses such as electricity, cleaning supplies, mower gas, etc.. This is not a requirement, just a free will donation because as always, any member is allowed to camp at ABATE Acres free of charge. It’s your land. Enjoy it.
