In November Board Members & State Officers got together for a training. Every part of what we talked about was how to represent ABATE, how to grow membership numbers, how to encourage members to get involved, how to work with legislators, and how to do better. It was a super motivating weekend! We also were planning Officer Training topics for February. I look forward to sharing our plans and excitement with everyone. That also got us talking about how we are going to do that and what we need. For marketing its important that we get Regions the supplies they need to spark conversations with potential members. In December District Directors will be reaching out to the Regions to get information about your individual Region needs based on events in 2025. Please work with them so I have the lists in time to get materials ordered and get them divided up accordingly based on need. Get your Regions involved in the conversation. This is a great way to start thinking about what you want to do in order to help grow our membership. What events are in your communities that you can be a part of?
I also want to start sharing more photos of members in ABATE attire doing motorcycle related things. If you happen to take your kid or grandkid on a ride with you or now have them out in the shop wrenching with you; take a picture. If you are comfortable with it being shared on the state page, please send it to me at events@abatewis.org. If you prefer, you can also text it to me at 920-858-7189. It’s so important that we share our passion for both motorcycles and ABATE with the next generation. Growing up my grandpa had a bike, which he later sold to my mom. My dad used to take me for rides sitting on the gas tank when I was so young I can barely remember. A few of my uncles rode as well. As a kid an older cousin lived with us and I loved watching him and his friends ride dirt bikes around our yard. Several of my cousins, a brother, and I all ride today. And now I love seeing videos of my cousin’s son riding his mini bike around their yard. I’m sure that many of you have similar stories. Another photo idea is then & now. Share a picture of when your kids were young on the bike with you and more recently riding with you. I look forward to seeing what you guys can come up with. Don’t limit yourself to my ideas.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
