Well, my first year as Membership Director has ended. It’s been an experience I will not soon forget. We experienced many changes in the past twelve months. The ABATE office in Black River Falls was shut down. This office was only about an hour from where I live, so it was easy to manage membership from here. I have since had to get used to doing things by computer in additional to using our new membership program, Wild Apricot. It goes without saying that I am thankful for the help and support I have received from the group of people working on this transition. You know who you are, thanks. I also want to give a special thank you to Marie, our Administrative Assistant. It would be difficult to list the day-to-day tasks that she does. In addition, she has also reached out to local businesses in her area looking for support for ABATE. Marie had a lot to learn, not only as a new employee, but as someone who was unfamiliar with our organization.
I am looking forward to working with you next year. I believe we are on our way to increasing membership and making the motorcycle community more aware of the issues we face. I look forward to hearing any ideas you may have to improve the way we do things.
Officer’s Training is coming up fast. January isn’t far away. This will be a great opportunity to share ideas. I hope all officers of ABATE show up. There will be packets with expired and current membership lists, as well as other information ready for regional reps to take back to their regions with them. Hope to see you there.
I want to wish all of you and your families a very Merry Christmas. Let’s make this coming new year a great one.
Ride Safe, Ride Free, Ride with ABATE.
