It’s hard to believe it is December already! I hope Santa brings you and yours everything you’ve ever hoped for. The older I get, the more I realize that it’s family and friends that make the holiday season…not so much Santa. As a matter of fact, my kids call me the grinch, which is somewhat how I feel about the commerciality of Christmas. I do enjoy the time with the family though, but the grandkids seem to grow up too fast these days.
I hope at least some of you were able to do what I asked of you in January and that is to bring in one new member this year. I know that not everyone did, or our membership numbers would have doubled. Let’s see if we can meet that goal for 2023.
There are still a few glitches we are working through with the Wild Apricot program. Please either give me or Marie Furrer (262) 402-0593 a call at the State Office phone number with any problems that you encounter. Problems are usually a quick fix and Marie seems to be the expert right now on the ins and outs of the program.
I also want to remind you that we are still running the promotion that was brought to us by Bronson Smith. This promotion started last year at Officer’s Training and runs until this year’s Officer’s Training. Anyone who has brought in 15 members within that time frame will have their name put in a drawing for $250 cash. The prize money was donated by Bronson in the hopes that this promo would generate a good number of new members. It will be good to get the final tally to see if it worked! If you are close to bringing in that many members, you still have a couple of months to go.
I am hoping that regional membership officers will attend Officer’s Training in February taking place in Marshfield.
This is a good time to bounce ideas off of one another and get ideas for not only bringing in new members but mentoring the ones we have so we don’t see them leave the organization. Anyone who joined ABATE has an avid interest in motorcycling and freedom, so even if they no longer ride, they should still be interested in preserving those rights.
Be sure to call me with any questions about memberships. I’m here to serve….
The Mean One, Mr. Grinch
