Never a dull moment!

About the time you read this, a group of ABATE of WI members will be supporting our neighbors to the southwest by attending the ABATE of Iowa Freedom Rally over Independence Day weekend.

Back in February we made the announcement that the Motorcycle Rider’s Foundation was going to be inducted in the Sturgis Hall of Fame. The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame seeks out the most influential people in the motorcycle industry to highlight their accomplishments and promote the future of motorcycling. Other inductees this year are: Bill Davidson, Karen Davidson, Bob Kay, Carlo & Emma Lujan, Robin Bradley, Tom Seymour, Don Emde and Ben Hardy. The Hall of Fame breakfast will be on Wednesday, August 10th at the Lodge in Deadwood, SD. ABATE of WI is proud to have two members, Dave Dwyer and Hardtail, on the Board of Directors for the MRF, along with Seven and myself being Assistants to the Board.

September 22-25th is the annual Meeting of the Minds conference. Meeting of the Minds is the annual international conference and is a great opportunity to network with bikers from all over the country, and beyond. This one will be held in the Midwest this year, in Des Moines, Iowa. Since it is so close, we would like to see many of our members attend this year. Similar to S.T.E.A.M., ABATE will be providing scholarships to 20 members willing to bring back what they learn to our membership. If you are interested in a scholarship, contact Steve Panten. His info is on the front page of this newsletter. Meeting of the Minds is also when the MRF sets its legislative agenda for the upcoming year and decides what items we will be discussing with our federal legislators at Bikers in the Beltway.

If you need to put in vacation requests early or just want to start planning for next year, here are a few conferences for 2023. Heartland STEAM will be held in Bismarck, ND April 21-22 and Meeting of the Minds will be in Harrisburg, PA in September.

Looking forward to lots of exciting times this summer and as always, stay vigilant, my friends!
