I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and a safe and successful deer season. Hard to believe we are looking at Christmas already. About the time you get this newsletter we will be doing our class schedule for 2019. It should be published and ready for registrations about the first of the year. I do want to let you know that our Dan Frantz scholarship fund for the BRC2 classes has been depleted. I hope this will not discourage anyone from taking the classes. There is plenty to learn that will keep you safer on the road.
I would like to take the time to thank all of you who voted for me as a write-in candidate for the ABATE of Wisconsin board of directors. I will do my best to represent the members and help maintain our strong organization.
I know you’ve heard it from me before, but this is the best time of year to get your bike ready for spring. Do the basic repairs and maintenance now so you are ready for spring. The long cold days of winter are also a great time to plan those trips for next summer. Do the research, plan the route, and even make early reservations. Don’t forget to plan a ride to Minnesota for the Meeting of the Minds in September. Remember that ABATE regions need your support. Plan to ride to neighboring regions to support their events. It will reap benefits when your region’s event comes along.
In future issues I’m hoping to have some “know your coaches” biographies from our Rider Coaches. It should be a good way for you to learn more about them. For now, keep warm and read some good books. Have a Merry and Blessed Christmas.
Ride Safe,
Gary
