Here we are, the best riding time in Wisconsin (in my opinion). It is the time of cooler temps, lower humidity, and less tourists. What more could you ask for? Our Safe Rider classes are winding down. The BRC2 have been done for a month and we have two more BRCs in September. It has been a good season. We ran our first two 3 Wheel BRCs this year and they were so well received that we have scheduled another one for September 21-22. To register for this class go to: https://can-am.brp.com/on-road/learntoride/registration.html or go to the Safe Rider section of abatewis.org. Passing this class will get you the road test waiver to get a 3-wheel M endorsement. I would again like to thank all of our Rider Coaches for their hard work and dedication to the program. We are already working on next year’s program.
Even though Safe Rider is winding down, things in ABATE are still busy. There are a lot of regional activities to attend and our annual meeting is coming up in October. It sounds like District 1 has a full weekend of activities planned. The Board and State officers have been working very hard to get our financial affairs and income in line to insure ABATE is viable and strong well into the future. I hope all our members will take active roles in supporting our activities.
As for me, I plan to get out and get a lot of fall riding in. Please be careful out there and watch out for the deer as we come into the time when fawns leave their mothers leading up to the rut. There are a lot of deer out there. By next month I’ll have a report on the Governor’s Highway Safety Conference that is scheduled for the end of August. John Reblin and the MOSAC committee are again planning to hold s special session on motorcycle issues.
Ride Safe,
Gary
