Summer Hummer Report

by Betty Roberge

The word of the month is SPONSORSHIPS.

According to our membership and their after-action reports, we are looking for more crowd drawing events, activities and musical attractions. So, the committee is out searching to do just that. BUT to bring in some other musicians and activities takes not only money, but also increased attendance. Keep in mind that they go hand in hand. The 2022 Hummer attendance goal is set at a 25% increase but remember that ABATE of Wisconsin is an over achiever, so let’s do just that – on both counts.

Sponsorships will be an integral part of the equation, so let’s start there. We are in the process of finding one “Full Throttle” $7,500 sponsor that will have absolute top billing for the 2022 Hummer. An example of this would be: “ABATE of Wisconsin’s Summer Hummer brought to you by (Company Name)” OR “(Company Name) brings you ABATE of Wisconsin’s Summer Hummer”. Another benefit of this “Full Throttle Sponsorship” is the company will receive exclusive Logo/Name printing on our Summer Hummer T shirts – no other sponsor will be printed on the event shirts but the Full Throttle sponsor. You get the idea. So….if you know of a company that you could approach for this type of sponsorship let Betty know and she will get you a packet to present….If you don’t feel comfortable approaching them yourself, forward the info to news30letter@outlook.com and they will be put on the contact list. The Full Throttle sponsorship is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

We appreciate that not many companies would be able to sponsor the event at the Full Throttle level. There are many other options available ranging from $100 to $5,000. Please check out the sponsorship form in this newsletter and present it to businesses that are ABATE friendly or motorcycle related. Ideally, we would like to approach motorcycle related businesses such as dealerships, after-market parts stores, repair shops, leather businesses, etc. but we know that we as consumers, do business with many companies throughout the year that might just like to give back a little. Again, look at the sponsorship form on page 9 for the many different options available. All sponsorship forms and payments are due by December 1st in order for the Hummer Committee to produce the flyers for dispersal at Officer’s Training in January. Let’s get loud…and let’s get sponsors!

A challenge to the regions. This is a statewide fundraiser – but let’s have fun doing it! How can we do this? Keep reading.

The committee is asking for each active region to bring in $500 in 2022 Hummer sponsorship money. It can be as easy as (1) – $500 sponsor, (2) – $250 sponsors, or (5) – $100 sponsors. You could pass the hat, yes, but we always do that. Let’s put our heads together and, as Marlene used to put it, find some citizen money to help us out. We’re good at that.

As always, forward any and all Hummer ideas to: robert.grasse59@gmail.com or news30letter@outlook.com
