So as soon as the weather warms and the snow starts to melt, BAM! Another snow fall and then cold weather. Well don’t fret the Summer Hummer is soon to be in your sights and you are not going to miss this event landing on the weekend of June 14th to the 17th. Advanced weekend tickets are now available to members for the low, low price of $25.00 giving you the opportunity to bring in the camper, or tent, set up, kick back and have some great biker fun. So, contact your region rep to see if they have the advance tickets available in your region or the ABATE office at www.abatewis.org for tickets and more information.
Many things for the Summer Hummer are falling into place as we speak. The bands are set including, drum roll please, Tuck Pence Thursday Night. We have a Waukesha Region 1F favorite Six Pack Sammy Friday night and judging from their last performances be ready to rock! Saturday get ready to boogie on down to the Spicy Tie Band. The hips will be swaying in the Rural Greenwood area having a great time all weekend long with these ABATE favorite bands.
Fire rings, fire wood along with ice deliveries are being planned with a system being put into place with marker flags being used to designate delivery sites. No more waiting around the site as you wait for the cart with your supplies. Sounds like a sweet idea to me.
The bar stool racers teams are tuning up those sweet little carts getting ready for some real competition racing around the track. Not only with the 4-wheel thunder going on we also have Scotty 2 Hottie and his gang of mischief makers and tormentors working on some fun bike games. Test out your riding skills and enter to play along. It was brought up to me to send a shout out for some girls to bring their bikes out to play along also. They audience would really like to see some woman take on the men in head to head competition. How about it girls?
I was just informed also that we have a fun new addition to the event. That Master of the Road, Rebel and his cohort in mischief little Mikey were able to set up a really fun event and we are looking for all your help. Kicking around some fun ideas, something off the chain and a HUGE draw around the state and the Midwest they have set getting some guests to appear Friday. We are talking the masters of the grille, Mad Dog and Merrill.
I grabbed this information from off their website to share with you. “Internationally recognized and self-proclaimed “Grillologists,” Mad Dog & Merrill, entertain and educate thousands of backyard enthusiasts every year with the finer points of grilling. They want nothing more than to make everyone a better griller and have a ton of fun doing it! Mad Dog & Merrill travel the country performing in front of live audiences and hosting the TV series Mad Dog & Merrill’s Midwest Grill’n that shows viewers how easy it is to be creative and entertain in their own backyard. Enjoy this web site and a comprehensive behind the scenes look of the most entertaining and knowledgeable “Grillologists” of the past 35 years, Mad Dog & Merrill.”
These two Grillologists are coming Friday to the Summer Hummer to amuse and dazzle us while taping an episode of their TV show. They love the idea of coming to a real biker party and entertain us. So, make sure you get your tickets for the “Hummer” and see these two guys entertain you with stories and jokes, and maybe they will get you on the small screen on one of their future episodes. As we get more information we will share it with you but the plan is they will be there Friday the 15th.
To make the event as comfortable as always at your land Pat Sheridan is getting more trees to be delivered in April. From seedlings to 6-foot-tall trees they will need to be planted shortly after arrival. If anyone is interested in helping to plant these trees contact Pat at 715-897-7031.
Also Land Warming work weekend is coming up in May the weekend of May 19th with many projects being planned I am sure. And of course if you are looking to cut some grass, they are always looking for some help there all summer long. Remember this is your land also and we need to help out as we can with maintenance and those little projects.
Till next month….
