The football season is over for this year, all the storylines of kneeling for the anthem are put to rest until next year. Not sure what will happen there. I have my opinion on it that I am not going to share here. I am sure that next up will be all the talk about salary’s and who is playing for who. At the end of the season also all the talk was which coach was getting fired and who was his next replacement…
No more Monday night, Sunday Night games. Throw in the noon and three o clock game on Sundays, it was football paradise for those that love the sport. The Pro Bowl use to be after the “big game”. Now it is placed in between the playoffs and the Super Bowl for whatever reason. Too bad that many of those picked opt out due to injuries or commitments. On radio and the newspaper, they talk on how the ratings for all these games is falling yet they keep putting more games on, I guess I don’t understand all that.
Next up is the combines looking for the next leaders and players of the game. Oh, and talks of retirement and moving of players trying to sign the big contract. All the speculation and rumors, there is way too much to keep track of.
During parts of the playoffs I did keep an eye out for what was going on. I did try to listen in to see if the Vikings could keep moving on. Nope sorry they did not. I did pay attention to who was playing the Patriots, hoping to hear that they lost and would not go for another ring. I just don’t, for whatever reason, like Brady or the Mannings. Maybe they don’t seem like working class people I guess.
The day of the Super Bowl was the “Little Flowers” birthday. Yep although she does not age in appearance or attitude she does have birthdays. We celebrated the day by doing a little shopping for some outdoor gear, worked on some projects in the house and a pizza and the game.
Between the new Jack Reacher book and pizza, I checked out the score, commercials and what was going on the field. Seemed like it could go either way, when with a hug and a kiss to my lovely bride, I hit the sack at the beginning of the third quarter.
So where is this all going? I looked online in the papers to see what happened. An exciting finish and celebration for the Eagles for finally winning the big game. The article I read all the players mentioned how the coach kept “his foot on the gas”. He was aggressive. The team remained resilient and confident.
Reminds you of our legislative agenda and Biker Day at the Capital. We were confident, and resilient with our bills. We did not care who we talked with, but we wanted to share our message clearly. We stayed on message on why we did not want the Slingshot type vehicles to be considered a motorcycle. We offered the issue, and offered a legitimate solution, when asked questions we answered them. And we are also still firm on why we want the information gathered in our vehicles, no matter what grabs it and why to be our personal property. Again, we offered a good solution we are happy with.
We kept this same course traveled with the additional penalties that were added into our original Right of Way bill, late last year. We had good information, we had facts to offer and we offered a solution. We were successful there.
We sometimes are not leading the score, or winning the game. But I can assure you that Chubby, Steve and all on the board are keeping our foot on the legislative gas pedal, or rather on the throttle control that is mounted on the handlebars. But we also need your help. We need you also to keep your hand firmly on the throttle grip. We need you to make those phone calls to legislators. We need you to be confident and write those emails to your representatives. We need you when there is an alert or call to action to do what is asked. The motorcycle rights movement is not just a couple of people. It is a team and all of the riders in Wisconsin are part of this team. We all need to do what is needed to win. working together as a team we can do anything. Just like an underdog won the Super Bowl we can get our agenda passed.
