Treasurer’s Report

by Laurie Thompson

Happy New Year!

We are still working on getting all the regional checking accounts up to date. If your regional representative has changed, please contact me as soon as possible so we can get this taken care of. Thank you to all the regional treasurers who got their December reports in early for my reporting purposes. We try so hard to get everything entered in the year it transpired so I really appreciate all of you getting two reports in for the month. Please remember to get your room booked for Officer’s Training. I would love to see all the regional treasurers in attendance, not only for learning purposes but some of you I still have not met in person!! It really is a great training weekend and the socializing isn’t too bad either…

We have now undergone three regional raffle audits. Please let me know if the State of Wisconsin – Division of Gaming reaches out to you for an audit. Don’t be alarmed, they are just making sure that we are following the rules and have also given us a couple of tips for fundraising ideas. I will do my best to be present at the meeting but at the very least I would like to speak with you before the meeting takes place.

Speaking of fundraising… did you get your sweetheart raffle tickets? They have been distributed to regions so stop out at a local meeting to get some! For only $5 you will get two tickets entered in the drawing for $1,000, $500 or $250 just in time to buy your sweetie that extra special gift for Valentine’s Day!! The drawing will be held before the BOD meeting on Sunday, February 10 at the Hotel Mead; tickets will be sold all weekend at Officer’s Training up until noon on the 10th but you need not be present to win.

Officer’s Training is right around the corner and fundraising is a big part of the weekend. If you are able to donate something for the silent or live auction, please make arrangements for it to make it there. Regions are encouraged to put a basket together if possible but Remember that regional funds should not be used for this.

Stay tuned for a new state raffle to be unveiled in February, limited number of tickets sold and a different prize structure…

Have a great month!!!

Laurie
