Treasurer’s Report

First and foremost, I hope that you are safe and healthy. Whether you are struggling emotionally, financially; alone or with someone – we are all in this together. The effects of COVID-19 will be seen for many months to come. ABATE of WI will see some hard times to come this year as well.

This difficult time has caused us to become creative in our ticket sales. The Summer Hummer has been cancelled this year, but the Summer Cash Raffle HAS NOT been cancelled. Tickets are $20 each and are for sale out in the regions. I have a limited supply and if you reach out to me, I will do my best to locate a ticket for you if I don’t have any. If you have tickets for sale, reach out to your family, friends, co-workers by phone, text, email, Facebook, whatever way you can do it safely. Take orders for tickets, ask them to send you a check, fill out the ticket stub, send them a picture of the completed stub. No tickets or ticket stubs should be sent through the mail. I know that we can all do our part to sell the 500 tickets that are available.

Creative fundraising is imperative right now … discuss this at a region level – through email, ask for ideas on Facebook, discuss with your district director… let me know your ideas – let someone know your ideas. Our options are very limited right now and any suggestions are appreciated.

We are working on another raffle at the state level to begin in June, more details will be available next month – possibly a calendar raffle.

If your region is able to hold an event, please begin planning if you haven’t already; our state will be open for business before you know it! And if your neighboring region still has a summer long event going on, please support them if you can. The weather will be warm again soon and will do us all good to get out and ride.

For now, I am counting my blessings, and the days until we can all get together. Be well and stay safe!
